Queensland Roar v Perth Glory
Summary: An interesting confrontation is in prospect as two winless records go head to head, you would think that something has to give. Queensland have not won at home all season whereas Perth are yet to record a victory on their travels. Queensland skipper, Craig Moore, was diagnosed with testicular cancer two weeks back and has already had surgery. He is looking to make a full recovery and will be watching from the sidelines today. Queensland are also likely to be without midfield terrier Danny Tiatto and midfield cover David Dodd. Perth have been in a rich vein of form recently, especially at home with striker Nikita Rukavytsya scoring 4 goals in his last 3 matches. Bad news for the travelling team is that creative spark Amaral, defender Hayden Foxe, and winger Nick Rizzo are all sidelined for this encounter.
Verdict: Queensland have a very good historical record against today's opponents and will be confident that they can improve on that statistic. In their previous meeting, Queensland easily disposed Perth away from home with 3 first half goals to eventually win by that margin. Motivation will also be on their side with 'Captain Courageous' Craig Moore most likely to offer a few words of encouragement in the dressing rooms and on the sidelines. Amarel is a big loss for the visitors so there are alot of positives for the home side.
Pick: Queensland -0.5,1
Queensland 4 - 1 Perth
