Central Coast v Melbourne Heart

Verdict: Central Coast will look to maintain their perfect record against Melbourne teams this season following their wins over Victory last week, and the Heart in Round 1. The Mariners were too efficient for last season's finalists, winning 2-0 with headed goals from Griffiths and McBreen on either side of the half. Visitors, Melbourne Heart, finally got their first win for the season in their respective clash with North Queensland. An early goal by the impressive Kalmar was enough to give the new club and its supporters a win to savour.

Melbourne Heart worryingly has some important absentees for this game with improving Dutch import, Worm, and Brazilian forward, Alex Terra, both out injured. These two players have made big contributions to the team's improved performances over the past 3 weeks and will be missed. Central Coast is a very organized side and efficient in the attacking third, especially from set pieces. The home side will miss the services of midfielder Perez, for the second week running, but I feel can compensate for this.

Pick: Central Coast -0.25AH @1.90 (betfair, 10 units)
Central Coast 1 - 0 Melbourne Heart

Wellington Phoenix v Sydney FC

Verdict: Wellington return to the home comforts of the Westpac Stadium following 2 consecutive losses on the road. Defeats at high flying Brisbane (1-0) and Perth (2-1) has left the Phoenix in 8th position with just 4pts from four games. Their opponents, Sydney FC, are two points worse off, and sit on the bottom of the table without a win. Last week, the Sky Blues' winless streak was stretched to 5 games with a dissapointing 1-3 home loss to Adelaide United.

Sydney really look in disarray at the moment and were fortunate to only lose by two goals against the Reds. Their injury situation is definitely not helping with key players in Brosque and McFlynn on the injury table, and now creative midfielder, Nick Carle considered very doubtful for this game. Wellington have no such injury worries and will look to stretch their unbeaten run of 21 matches at this venue against an out of form and depleted visiting side. I'll be very surprised if Wellington don't get the three points here.

Pick: Wellington -0.25AH @1.98 (188bet, 10 units)
Wellington 2 - 1 Sydney FC
