North Queensland v Perth Glory

Verdict: Both sides are in desperate need of three points as they try and break their own respective winless streaks. North Queensland’s 3-2 loss at Central Coast meant that their dry spell without a win was stretched to 7 games. Perth Glory didn’t fare much better, losing 2-0 at league leaders Adelaide United and registering their fourth loss on the bounce.

In short, both teams are desperate for three points and anything less will not be good enough. In midweek, Perth manager David Mitchell stepped down from his position, meaning that assistant and former North Queensland boss, Ian Ferguson, will take over the reins indefinitely. I expect an enthusiastic performance from Perth with a fresh start offered to all due to the managerial change. North Queensland is arguably the most excitable team in the competition due to their youthful exuberance. The Fury are always good value with goals, more often than not, on the offering. In fact, the scoreless draw against Melbourne Victory a month ago was the first ever in their 15-month existence.

Pick: Over 2 goals @1.73 (188bet, 10 units)
North Queensland 2 - 1 Perth Glory
